Here is our Privacy Policy in plain, everyday language. It's pretty simple.
Click here for the longer, formal version.
We never send spam to anyone, and we never sell or give any addresses to spammers. No spammer is ever given (or sold, leased, or rented) your name, address, or email address from this site. When you register to join the AM Forum, you are also signing up for the occasional AM eZine (newsletter). You may also, without joining the AM Forum, sign up for the occasional AM eZine (newsletter) by expressly doing so (by entering your email address is the appropriate form on our site and clicking to sign up). If, at any time after joining the AM Forum, or if, at any time after expressly signing up for the occasional AM newsletter, you decide you no longer wish to receive the occasional AM newsletter, then you may easily opt out. To do so, simply click the appropriate link provided at the bottom of any AM newsletter you may receive from the site. At the bottom of each AM newsletter, wording like the following appears:
|
If you wish to
unsubscribe [ email address shows here ] from the Mailing List, click on
the link below. By clicking on the link you will automatically be removed from
this Mailing List. |
Clicking that link will remove your address, and you will no longer receive the AM newsletter unless you again sign up for it. If you wish to be removed from the AM newsletter's email list at any other time, and you don't have access to the above link, just email us at AmForum@upci.org and inform us, and we'll remove your email address from the list.
All the areas offered on this site are free, so we neither ask for, nor store, any credit card account info or billing info on this site. We do accept charitable, tax-exempt donations, but all those choosing to donate then choose to give their donation info to a third party of their choice (such as PayPal), and thus do not have any credit card info stored or maintained on our site or its server. Any products displayed that require a purchase would also require leaving our site to make the purchase.
We use cookies, but we don't gather any personally identifiable info with them. Some people are concerned about the use of web "cookies" -- which are tiny little text files used to gather and store information about how a website is used. The dramatic fears about web cookies -- how that all websites will record who you are and store records of where you surfed -- are mostly hysteria. Such fears are certainly not true about our website. We use cookies only to know which pages in our site are the most popular, which websites referred people to our site (not who was referred!) (i.e. which search engines were used to help people find us), and from which countries the sites' visitors are hailing. Nothing that could identify you personally is gathered or stored via cookies. Furthermore, nothing that could identify you personally is gathered or stored without your explicit knowledge and consent, by you typing that info into a form that allows information to be entered, such as to be displayed to other AM members on your AM Profile. Any personal information that you provide is completely optional (i.e. may be withheld), and, if ever given, may be removed by you at any time. For example, if you provide your real name in your AM Profile on the AM Forum, such a choice is optional (you may withhold the info if you choose, by leaving it blank), and you can log into the AM Forum and edit your profile at any time to remove any personal info you chose to supply.
To reiterate, we never sell or give any names, addresses, email addresses (or any other info) to any person or group who might spam you or send you junk mail.
